We are excited to finally announce that the first release on new dance label Retro Records is Lombardi ‘Apollonia’. It is a faithful remake of the massive Italo house anthem, Indie ‘Apollonia’, originally released in 1990 on a white label, later being issued in Italy in 1992 and other countries in 1993. The track was famously supported by legendary DJ producer Sasha, who even produced his own cover of the track. If you were clubbing in the early 90s you would have heard the original, and versions of it, being played everywhere.

This new version was produced by talented Halifax-based house producer Dannie Kavanagh, aka Lombardi, and it features stellar remixes from DJ Flavours, FPI Project and 7th Heaven.

Initially, the plan is to release a 12” vinyl featuring the four mixes with a digital release to follow a month or two later. Links to the vinyl presale will follow soon.

A fun video is currently in production.

In progress now, for completion very soon, Ross Alexander ‘Left To My Own Devices’, produced by 7th Heaven’s Jon Dixon. It is a fave Pet Shop Boys song for many, so Ross thought, especially with the TV advert running presently which currently features the original, to produce a banging new cover of the UK Top 5 1988 pop classic.

To celebrate the album’s 40th Anniversary, Donna Summer’s ‘Cats Without Claws’, has received a reawakening, with five tracks being remixed for this milestone release. Top remix names, Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue/Britney Spears/Brothers In Rhythm/Claire Richards/Delta Goodrem/Take That/Westlife, etc), 7th Heaven (Kylie Minogue/P!nk/Little Mix/Ariana Grande/Steps/Cher/Britney Spears/Sugababes/Jason Derulo/LeAnn Rimes/Agnetha Fältskog/Katy Perry/Take That/Selena Gomez, etc), Ladies On Mars and ShyBoy (Hollywood Music In Media Award ‘Best Male Vocal’ on Hypnogaja’s version of Donna’s ‘On The Radio’), all add a special spark and contemporary gloss to half of the album.

This newly mastered vinyl 2LP set pressed on hot pink & white coloured vinyl, also contains the non-album ‘b’-side ‘Face The Music’, as well as the original ‘Eyes’ (Extended Mix), lyrics, a newly authored 6,000+ word essay by noted US writer Christian John Wikane, featuring new and his own archive interviews conducted with album producer Michael Omartian, designer Jeff Fey, video director Ian Leech, John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez, Reba Rambo and Bruce Sudano.

Both Jon and Andy are huge fans of Donna so it was a dream come true for 7th Heaven to be asked to remix ‘I’m Free’ for inclusion on this fabulous value 40th Anniversary edition. It was also great to be on the same set as our good friend, writer, producer and dance music legend, Steve Anderson. The 7th Heaven remix of ‘I’m Free’ transforms the song into a big euphoric floorfiller.

The lead single, ‘Forgive Me’ (Steve Anderson Remix) will be available to stream and download this Friday, 6th December 2024.

The release date for all album formats is Friday, 18th April 2025.

We plan to add to our 7H Label Bandcamp page, over the next few months, the various 7th Heaven productions we have licensed to labels since 2008.

Some will be remixed and updated, ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’ being one we want to Mirrorball-up. 7th Heaven ft. Lonnie Gordon ‘Gonna Catch You’ is another that could be given an all-new remix. 7th Heaven ft. Katherine Ellis ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But The Rent’, which is most people’s favourite, is an obvious one to freshen up, although we wonder if Jon could improve on his original 2008 mix.

Anyway, starting with the most recent, 7th Heaven ft. Banderas ‘This Is Your Life’, which is the best-selling 7th Heaven release to date and is one of our favourites, Cayenne/New State kindly gave us permission (they signed it in 2021) to issue it on our Bandcamp page. The three 7th Heaven mixes, including the new Mirrorball Mix, will be available to stream/purchase only from our Bandcamp page, from this Friday, 29th November 2024.

Fourteen years in the making, Neo’s Project ft. Cheryl Barnes’ peak-time dance remake of Cher’s 2010 song from the movie ‘Burlesque’, ‘You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me’, finally gets a release on 7th Heaven’s own 7H Label. Commissioned and A&R’d by dance label Neoteric’s Martin Brooker. At the time, he felt that the official remixes of Cher’s original sounded pretty lame, and that the song deserved to be an absoolute anthem. He set about proving that it could be – and this is that! The vocalist, the truly awesome, Cheryl Barnes, does a really great Cher. It’s a sound-alike to impress.
