Being sent to DJs today through Poparazzi is the 7th Heaven remix of the first new Steps single for 11 years, ‘Light Up The World’. This anthemic belter of a ballad is typically Steps, and 7th Heaven’s mix is pretty well as you’d expect. Big riffs and gated synths… pure uplifting joy!
Several months in the planning, and with many late nights of prep work and uploading for 7th Heaven’s Andy, the brand new 7TH HEAVEN REMIX & PRODUCTION website is now online. From take down of the old site till today it has been just over 2 months and yet it feels a lot longer. We have missed being able to chat to you! You will see there are many new remixes completed since our last news update. Check out big new profile remixes for Matthew Koma, The Overtones, Guinevere, Enrique Iglesias ft. We would like to say a huge thank you to our web developer Fraser Renton from Frish Media for his dedication, patience and for all his great ideas. We are thrilled with the site. And there’s more to come. The CLIENT lists have you to be fully updated (this could take some time collecting all the label biogs) plus we are planning special features to add to the ABOUT section, early in the new year. But what’s here, we feel is pretty damned smart. We hope you enjoy browsing our new site. We can finally reveal that the latest 7th Heaven production is entitled ‘Love Is Alive’ and features the extraordinary vocal talents of our favourite house diva, Katherine Ellis. The original was a #2 Billboard hit in the US for Gary Wright in 1976, though the song was most recently covered by Anastacia on her 2000 album ‘Not That Kind’. 7th Heaven’s interpretation is pure uplifting classic house. You can hear a clip on the PRODUCTIONS section of this site. The plan is to release it early in 2013, so watch this space.
Completed recently for Tommy Boy in the US is the amazing dance track ‘Fly Away’ from the newly signed artist, Guinevere. 7th Heaven give the song a more big room feel that will appeal to club DJs and pop fans alike. We have no date yet as to when this will be promoed.
About to be serviced to DJs in the UK any day now is the 7th Heaven remix of the fab new single from The Overtones for Warner subsidiary Rhino. The release date has not yet been confirmed though we believe the mix will appear as part of the digital package. It’s a really great song and one of the best 7th Heaven mixes of the year.
Every now and again a song appears that really blows your mind! Well this is one such example! Prepare to be seriously impressed with the 7th Heaven remix of the debut single from new US singer Matthew Koma, a new signing to Cherrytree Records. That song ‘Parachute’ is an urban-tinged pop song with a killer chorus. 7th Heaven’s remix is mega-uplifting yet still pretty cool. It is doe for release before Xmas in the UK on Cherrytree/Interscope.
Johnny Ruffo is an Australian singer/songwriter, television presenter and actor who was also a finalist in the third season of the Ausssie X Factor. Signed now to Sony Australia, the handsome fella release his latest single ‘Take It Home’ which features a fabulous remix from 7th Heaven.
Mackenzie Knight is a new dance artist, making a name for herself with her debut single ‘Better Man’. Remixed to perfection by top UK remix team 7th Heaven, this already very good song is now a peaktime dancefloor anthem! The mystery remains as to who she really is! We know, but have been sworn to secrecy!
Melbourne based Anise K. is a writer, producer and recording artist and is an up and coming star in Australia, having also recently signed to Sony Australia. 7th Heaven were delighted to be asked to remix his latest single ‘Walking On Air’. As far as we know this is planned as an Australian only release.
A hot new dance tune to listen out for early in the new year is ‘Dream Of Me’, the really quite fabulous new single from San Francisco-based producer Matt Consola and featuring vocalist Brenda Reed. It is a cover, but it’s one you wouldn’t immediately recognise – and that’s partly what makes this production so special. You sort of feel as if it is in some way familiar. 7th Heaven have completed what we feel is one of their finest ever remixes – poppy and clubby all in one hit! According to the Matt Consola, who is also label owner of San Fran based dance label Swishcraft, this is looking likely to be a February release, at the earliest. So, watch this space for more info. But be excited ’cause this is one seriously uplifting track.
